Lamu Yoga Retreats offers its first retreat….
“Celebrate life” on the tropical island of Lamu, Kenya.
11th — 14th March 2021
Lamu Island, Kenya’s leading wellness destination, is the perfect place for you to relax, unwind, connect with yourself and others while tuning into your deepest wants and needs.
In this 4‑day immersion, you’ll be introduced to various yoga styles including vinyasa, Hatha, Yin Yoga, Dance, meditation, breath work, sound healing and personal development.
As we move through the various traditional Swahili homes that are hosting our classes, you can explore the charming village of Shela. With its winding, narrow streets, beautiful architecture and donkeys around every corner, you’ll be sure to fall in love.
Plus, as we’re only minutes away from the beach we’ll have the opportunity for early-bird yoga on the beach — a firm favorite among local yogis

Throughout the immersion, we’ll introduce you to the vibrant Swahili culture that truly makes Lamu special. You’ll share a traditionally cooked Swahili meal, partake in African dance and have the chance to practice and connect with the local community on the mat too.
Through these experiences, we want to highlight what makes our cultures unique, what we share and how we can all learn and grow from each other.
As we celebrate our life together we also want to give back to the community that hosts and supports us. That’s why we’ll be working with PadMad Social Enterprise to provide reusable sanitary pads to local schools and women’s groups to ensure all women can enjoy safe and sanitary menstruation.
Miles of empty sandy beaches, winding, narrow streets, vivid culture, flavorsome food and a handful of East Africa’s greatest yoga teachers await you.
